Practicing a design process can make good products great.

  • Research
  • Wireframe
  • Mockup
  • Prototype
  • Develop

There are many tools out there for wireframing such as OmniGraffle, JustInMind or even Adobe Illustrator but the one I have been using for a while is 'Balsamiq'. It's easy to use and has a fairly rich feature set.

Creating Mockups in Adobe Photoshop allow for experimenting with multiple visual treatments.

Documenting detailed definitions of colors, fonts, borders and spacing eliminate guesswork.

Icons refined in Illustrator and exported individually as SVG files for a custom font icon.
